Our client was the owner of the business and wanted to remodel and expand the upper level and adjacent space for an apartment for himself and his family. We removed the stairway entering the upper rental apartments and included new scissor stairs into the new addition which included the enlarged apartment with outside covered deck, garage, storage and stairway. One critical issue in this project was retention of storm water as the property was almost completely covered with building and parking lot. We resolved the problem by adding perforated concrete storage tanks below the parking lot and landscape area to fulfill current code requirements.
